HOW MUCH IS A SESSION?
My appointments are 45 minutes long and are £70 in Wheathampstead & £75 in Mill Hill.
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT ON MY FIRST VISIT?
To help me to find the best way to treat your problem, I need to understand your general health as well as the problem that you are consulting me for. I will ask a range of questions, please try to answer any questions fully and to the best of your ability.
At the first appointment I will do my best to understand your problem through listening and asking a variety of questions about your condition and overall health.
Once I feel that I understand your problem, I will perform an examination. Sometimes the pain that you are experiencing may originate from elsewhere in the body and may be caused by muscles, ligaments, joints, nerves or other parts.
Depending on the location of the issue I may ask you to perform a few movements and I may need to carry out some orthopaedic or neurological tests such as reflexes. I may ask you to remove clothing so that I can best access the affected areas, but I If you feel uncomfortable with any of this at anytime during our appointment, then please let me know.
This first appointment is about assessing if treatment is appropriate, formulating a treatment plan with you. There is usually time for a small amount of treatment at this first consultation. Everything we discuss is strictly confidential.

CAN I BRING SOMEONE WITH ME?
You are welcome to bring a chaperone along for the examination and treatment.
I know that this may be the first time that you have seen an osteopath and you may be a little apprehensive, and I will do my best to reassure and help you in any way I can.
CAN MY CHILD GO ALONE?
Children under the age of 18 MUST be accompanied by an adult and it is preferred for those under 18 to be accompanied
WHAT IS TREATMENT LIKE?
IThere are usually several ways to treat the same problem and I want to find the best way for you.

At your first appointment (and during subsequent ones if necessary) I will explain what treatment I would like to carry out and how this might help you.
Each of the distinct techniques can be used individually or jointly. I will explain the techniques which I will use and discuss them with you. Specific techniques aim to help a particular part of, as well as the whole body to function harmoniously, depending on your condition or problem. In order to achieve this, I may choose to work on areas that do not have any pain, but which may be causing or maintaining your problem.
